I am an experienced instructional designer with expertise in designing and facilitating collegiate and corporate courses that are taught in the on site, blended and online classroom environment.  I specialize in designing and developing experiential learning content that is interactive, engaging and collaborative.

My instructional design portfolio includes projects that showcase my expertise in interactive course design, course development support, project management and instructional technology support.

Teaching Informed Instructional Design
My collegiate teaching experience on the university and community college level provides me with practical experience that informs the course design and delivery strategies that I use in course development projects. I have taught business administration, industrial technology and instructional technology courses.
 

Course Design - Project Management - Resource - Online Help Development

Course Design:  My curriculum design experience includes designing course materials that feature  interactive lecture outlines as well as course activities that include self tests, games, presentations, web quests, discussion, blogs and case analyses. I have also designed and developed grading rubrics for these course activities. You will find examples of the business administration courses and nursing courses that I have designed on the courses page.

Course Design and Instructional Technology Support: My course design support experience includes preparing and using instructional design orientation training handouts, course design checklists and module development job aids.  These course design support resources were used in one-on-one faculty training sessions. You will find examples on the courses page in the Instructional Design Faculty Support section.

I have also supported faculty course design with the development of Blackboard tool and upgrade training handouts.  These materials were used in faculty training or distributed to faculty for self guided help.

Project Management: My project management experience includes the management of undergraduate and graduate course development projects in psychiatric mental health nursing. I have also worked in the corporate environment as an instructional designer, technical writer and project manager. My corporate experience includes working on client projects that included software documentation, sub sea engineer training courses and the development of OSHA safety training courseware.

Resource - Online Help Site Development: I have designed online help sites to support course content development (transitional courses), office/web development software (Dream Weaver) and professional development courses. These examples are located on the online help and resource site pages.
